Big headed ants? Here?

Of all the things to happen this was one. A costly pest infestation. A pest infestation that I had been complaining about to Terminix since March last year. Something they always ignored me about. And they expect me to pay them, when they also let someone use our info to get pest control...no Terminix. Won't happen, and I never have received any notifications about it either. Funny.

We have been finding piles of sand in our house. That's right, in our house. And it has been a struggle to get rid of these little pests. What got me really going was the HUGE piles I saw in the garage. It was as if a massive ant colony was surviving and thriving in an intricate society or many towns, villages, and rulers. Oh wait. They were. We have a super colony under my house. And it as the new pest control company said, "how could they have missed this?"

Wanna see it?
Look here.
This is a small bit of where they are. And they are throughout the house. How gross and costly. Pest control will be here 1once a week for the next month or so and then every month. Yay. The fun of being a home owner. And on top of all of this I have to figure out where in the foundation in the front room is the crack. They want to come up through it.
This should have been handled, this should have never have gotten this bad. If I was listened to and not made out to be "seeing things" we wouldn't have the outdoors in. I clean like a mad woman, my day starts out with kitchen cleaning, followed by vacuuming the house, dusting, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms. I feel the ants make me seem like my home is dirty, and it is totally embarrassing. But, here I am blogging about it.
There is a trench around my home from the trumador, all I need is some water a draw bridge and a couple of gators waiting. It is a moat. They will fill it back up. Still, I can not help but worry about this. Wouldn't you?

Diaper change from hell.

Picture it, February 27th 2014, there is a beautiful mama and an adorable baby boy about to embark on a diaper adventure that was to be turned into a life changing experience. If you get the picture it reference you are awesome. The baby had pee pee in his diaper and needed changing. The mama needed to do this because of diaper rash. The boy, however, was playing with his Lion King toy and did not want to stop. What did the mom do? She did the only thing she could. She battled the infant toddler boy to get a clean diaper on. It was a battle of wills, a battle of safety, a battle to not get peed on. The mom won, but she hated how horrible of an experience it was. Well, that mama was me.

This story, unlike many a Sophia stories, was not made up. This is a true story. All of a sudden my baby boy won't sit for a diaper change. He hates it. He tosses, turns, cries, fidgets, and almost falls when I change his diaper. And I have been lost on what to do. I have tried singing to him, I have tried giving him something to play with(most of the time it works), but nothing worked today. I finally had to hold him down and what should have taken 1 to 2 minutes of HIS cute little time, took 5. I went to good old Google for help. And I guess this isn't uncommon. Babies around this age are so busy playing they don't want a diaper change. This I know will happen again when he is older and doesn't want to stop playing to go potty in the "big boy" toliet, no matter how bad the pee pee dance is.
But today, dealing with today, he didn't want it. And no matter how much of a tooty booty he was, he didn't want me interfering with his play.

I got him to let me change him before bed, though. He was given a bottle of water. And I used the straps on my changing pad to hold him in place. For the record, I forgot those were attached to the thing. As I have never needed them before. And since after looking on mom sites and blogs, I took the pad off the changing table and put it on the floor. He let me change him. I was even able to put cream on his butt. Yay! Now, will it be like this if he needs a changing tonight? Or tomorrow? I am not sure.
I guess I can wait an see what happens. I hope he will let me change him without the drama attached.

Eating a piece of heaven; muller corner

I have discovered a yogurt that is absolutley divine..
I am hooked on Muller corner yogurt dark choc. I am in love with it's creamy texture and bits of chocolate combined with cherry or raspberry puree. I am in love. I need more. I love it but hate the container. The angles makes it hard to get all that goodness out. I need the goodness, change the container. Because, I feel silly eating yogurt with a baby spoon from ikea.

Most awesome stackable toy.

Babies love stackable toys. The rings are fun to throw around and are a classic. But, hubby brought his boy home something special. A stackable science toy! Because science! This toy is a stackable toy that no matter how he moves it around it won't topple over so easily.
It has grooves that allow this to happen. My hubby saw it and bought it when he was on a trip for business. What a great daddy! #science

The balls are heavy but very colorful, something babies love. They love all the colors. They love these tactile toys. Tobbles neo is available online for $26 or at MOMA. They come with concave tops and round bottoms. The neo has geometric tactile concave tops. Babies just have a lot of fun, and may I say my hubby and I had fun with them too. Artsy and appealing, these toys are not an eyesore. I will have them on a coffee table. These are not your average stackable toy.

The day I became that person.

You know the type of person on Facebook who always posts memes or things like that? Well forever I said I would never do it. All of a sudden it dawned on me.....I have been doing exactly that. I have become the Facebook quiz poster, meme poster, news poster. I have become the silly reporter of silly things I see on other pages. I became what I didn't want to be, which is annoying. Joy. Fun. Fabulous.
I look at my Facebook and see an over abundance of Lord of the Rings memes and cracks on Twighlight. Which is a movie I only made half an hour through. Sparkling vampires? Really?

I sit here thinking abut all that silliness on my feed. Do people actually care? Do they like it? As a Facebook user do any of you hate it?
I just don't know, all I do know is I am annoying myself. Fun right?

A day without booger; a bag of groceries, and a glass of wine.

I won't start this by saying oh I went shopping for an hour and saved $50 at Target or Walmart, or wherever. Nope, I am going to start this post by saying I went shopping from 11 am to 8pm, and oh my god I am tired! #mydogsarebarking I went shopping for 8 hours to 4 different stores! All this, just to get that "good" deal. Well folks I did it. I spent a little over $200 but saved $3-400. I have had a glass or two of Moascato, so I am estimating. It is somewhere between $3-400 saved. Wine.
I guess in the overall big picture I saved a bit. And I got things to donate to charity. The local Lutheran church gives food to those in need with an open pantry to those who need food. And believe me I know what it is like to go without. And it is rough. It is why I coupon and why I will never stop. I now have so much in my stock that I don't have to shop for a month! Or two. And I am prepared for any financial catastrophe. So, in the event of cataclismic financial issues, we can survive off the stock for months. Yay.
Our first stop was at Windixie, which is an ok store to shop. Their coupon policy is a bit strange but I did get good bargains. For instance, wine, #herewegoagain was only 2 for $10. And here lately Barefoot wine is $6.97,so this was a great deal! I saved $1.97 on each bottle. So, their coupon policy. If there is a bogo, you can only use 1 mfc and 1 sc. You can not stack the mfc. Bummer. I tried that today....nope. But one this item fabreeze scents; I got on sale and used a coupon. $1.47 for a cartridge. And it was a Christmas pine scent. (Hides cat smell.)  great right?
Then we went to Walmart. And I stocked up on cat food for $2.47 a bag. I had mfc from my coupon site  for $2 off any size Iams cat food. They had a small bag for $4.47. I got a bunch of them along with dog food, tooth brushes for my son, Pampers(not pictured), and Easter stuff. I also got FREE makeup from Wet n' wild cosmetics. How? Well, a $1.00 off any Fergie or regular cosmetic item by that company from the paper. The eye liner was $.93 and the nail Polish was $.93 soooo, free.

Excuse my Olive Garden box..I got hungry.
Then we went to Target. This is where I saved a bunch. People let me tell you, Target is a coupon gold mine. If you play the field right you can walk out with so much stuff it is crazy! If you have Redcard and you have the Cartwheel, you can save extra on each item. Example: Glade wax melts. They were on sale for $2.99 each. I had a sc (store coupon) for $1.50 off two and I had a mfc(manufacturer coupon) for $1 off two. There was a Cw for 5% off and Redcard is an extra 5% so, it was roughly $3.14 for two. If you want per item it is $1.57 each. Not bad. There was also a sale on Colgate white mouthwash. This was a steal! $2.99 on sale, sc for $1 and mfc for $1 along with Redcard . I got it for less than $1. I took advantage of that the day before.
Yesterday.
So, I got another bottle. Then there was a good deal on baby food. I had sc and several mfc for $ 1 off two Gerber Graduates baby cereal.  It came to about $.74 a container. I stocked up.My boy needs variety.
He also got green beans. His fave. The cat litter was $7.49 and I got it for $4.49 after my high value coupon. Mfc $3 off! The spree in the picture was free! They were 10 for $10 and I had $1 coupon for $1 off. The French mustard was $.58. The picture above was photo one of two.
I got my hubby dark chocolate m&ms I had a Cw, sc, and mfc. So they were cheap. $2.99 a bag I got $2.50 off two and the 25% off Cw. Wow. I basically got one bag free.
Glade again. The Mio was on sale for $2.50 I got each one for $1 after the mfc. The Loreal hair, I had a Catalina for $1 off.  Catalina's are coupons that print after or during a transaction, to be used on the next transaction. Cvs has these a lot.  Then I had the mfc for $2 off. I got it for $.99! Yay! The Purex crystals were on clearance. I got each one for $2 and the Downy for $ 2 after sc and mfc's. The Party mix was on sale for $1.50 a bag and I had sc and mfc. Each bag was less than a dollar. The Glade sprayer was $7.99 I had a mfc for $3 off then a rebate from checkout51 for $3, making it $1.99!
I loved saving the money and if you don't include my bracelet I only spent $80 on groceries here.

Publix.
This picture did not include the freezer items. Which needs to be frozen. So they were not in the picture. I got 12 Maruchan Yokisoba noodles for FREE! I have been holding on to these coupons and there it was a bogo at Publix for these. Normally priced at $.99 each, my coupon for $1 off two made each and everyone free. That is nuts. The Pure Via stevia had a sc for $1 off , I also had mfc's for $1 off. Each box was $2.49 each , after coupons I only paid $.49 each. I had coupons for everything but the vinegar and formula. The razors I got were $9.99 to $10.99 each. I had a sc for $3 off and a mfc for $4 off. Each pack was $2.99 to $3.99. I could not pass that up, ahem it is getting hot again in Fl and that means dresses and shorts. The Pedigree Dentastix was bogo, each set of 2 only cost $1 after a Target sc and a mfc. Along with all the coupons I had Ibotta and checkout51 rebates. This is where you earn cash back for certain items purchased. These are available in the App Store or on google play. As well as online. Combine this with coupons for lots of savings.
My total at the register was over $200. We all got excited watching the amount go down from the coupons. I love seeing the total go up, nothing better than a slight financial freak out. Then I absolutly love seeing the total go down. One day it will be lower that that, but for now I do not have to shop for a long long time. And the last thing I wanna see is another grocery store as of right now.

Battle of wills.

Mommy and baby had a epic war last night. What it was about was bedtime. It was a battle of wills. A battle of patience. A battle of mom vs baby. Who would outlast the other? Well it was me, but he didn't go without a massive fight.

It began like any normal night. He has been sleeping throughout the night and refuses to sleep in the morning anymore. There goes my morning exercise sesh with Jillian and Xbox. But, he ate his cereal and it was time for zzzz's. I thought he would sleep all night and I thought he would go to bed easily.bah!  We were watching Peppa pig and little man out of no where started screaming. What?! I was struck with worry of course and rushed him to his room for Oragel and hope it would work. Now remember we just got over bronculitis and ear infections. The gel did nothing, so I had to use Tylenol. He still was screaming. After walking him around the room, I sat down and gave him a bottle. He took a few sips and threw it. We went from a pain cry to a full on temper tantrum that would make any two year old envious. He wouldn't stop, and I tried to comfort and while I am not a "cry it out" parent; I had to put him in his crib and walk away. I was lost. And he wouldn't stop.
I went into my room and watch tv while he cried, checking on him every 10 mins. He wouldn't stop and it was out of control. I went into his room again and picked him up. I tried to soothe him,but he was just so upset for being upset; I don't even think he realized I was holding him.
I walked around the room and finally he fell asleep. After flailing around like a fish out of water, throwing himself, scratching mama, and screaming he fell asleep in my arms. I felt horrible.
And hope tonight will be better. Wish us luck. We need it.

His 1 year pics, what a trip.

I had the brilliant idea of getting little man's pictures taken. After seeing many friends have professional photos of their kids for EVERYTHING, I felt like this was needed. So we got St Pattys day pics and his "look at me I am turning 1!" Pics done. He was all over the place, he was full of "I don't wanna " and I am hoping he has some good pics. My friend said she got some and I felt bad because he was really uncooperative. But what can you expect from am 11 month old baby. He, by her standards was just fine, and she would know she is a photographer.
We used balloons and his 1st bday piñata. The idea was cute and I can not wait to see the results.
I needs to fill my walls with photos of my little family.I am one proud mama. I got more put into his baby book, which is something I rarely do. I looked back and thought wow, one word answers. Genius. I was tired, really tired then.his baby book is significant because it is almost a year, and I never in the before did I think I would be here boasting about a baby. But, his pictures are a monumental thing, he has survived us being his parents for a whole year and we have the pics to prove it. We love every minute of it, and even though I am with this little man every day, I never have enough little man time. It never gets old.

We have just too much fun.

He ate what?!

The other day I was putting together my ikea entertainment center for my hubby and little man was nearby playing with his hammer and toys. It made me smile seeing him playing so intently. I went back to working on my ikea thing. Then I look over and he is gone. He went back by the PC and what was he chewing on ? My Samsung earbuds for my phone! I quickly jumped up and ran to him. Thinking oh crap oh crap. Then I wrestled the earbuds away, I had a sigh of relief when I saw that one had its silicone piece still on. And then I saw it. The one bud had no silicone on it and baby was making a chewing face. I jammed my finger into his mouth to get it out. And the little bugger swallowed it! Craptastic! Now what?! I googled it. And basically everyone said it has to work it's way out. And he was fine he was eating and drinking, no fever. I was now on poop patrol. I had to watch for a pink piece of silicone in his poop. Awesome, just awesome. Not only did I feel like the worst mommy ever, I felt bad for my baby.
Flash forward to yesterday. While cleaning the bathroom I saw a piece of pink sitting on the floor. It was the missing ear bud!! He didn't eat it after all! My son was going to be fine. I had been having nightmares about that for days and then found that piece. How did it get there? Did he spit it out and it fell off me? Did I actually succeed in getting it out? Who knows. But what I do know is I am greatful for finding it and it has been put up and away.

I know babies do stuff like this, but I was not ready for it.

Saturday shopping spree, save save save!

Yeah, I was the girl in line at Target taking forever at checkout. With my stack of coupons I was on fire! I did amazingly well, until I got outside and realized I forgot to use my Target cartwheel. Yay. I am so awesome like that! So, go figure I could have save extra, I always forget something. Like stamps. I always forget stamps!
Ok, there were some great deals and steals today in grocery land. I got the Heft on sale for $6.95 and used a coupon I had printed from my site for $1.25 off. $5.70 for the box minutes an additional 5% for having the Redcard debit. My milk(not shown) was free after two boxes of Raisin Bran with a coupon, I also had an Ibotta offer off a dollar back and a rebate from checkout51 for the same.I had some great Catalina's for my Gerber baby foods. The mouth was was on sale for $2.99 I had a $1.00 off Target coupon and I am sure I had an extra mouth wash coupon somewhere, but couldn't find it this morning. I had some left over Garnier Fructise coupons Valued at $2 each and got 4 bottles of the stuff for .99 cents each. The Mitchum deodorant was on sale for $2.67 a stick, I had a coupon worth $2 off. Each deodorant was .67 cents. The Secret was a stick for $2.47 and I had a coupon from the manufacturer for $2 off just for writing to them. The French's Mustard was an unadvertised deal, originally $5 Target had it on sale for $1.25 and I had a coupon for .75 cents off. Each bottle only cost .50 cents. Then the items I was most excited about(call me a dork) was the Iams cat food and the Windex. Ok so, Target has a coupon for $1.00 off the Windex touch ups . Then There is a printable  coupon for $1.00 off, this is a mfc. You combine two Target sc's and one mfc, with the mfc bogo coupon. The Windex is $3.49 in Fl, so you used the $3 worth of coupons and only have to pay ........ $.49 for TWO. Seriously, if you hung on to those Windex coupons from a couple of papers ago you too can be rolling in kitchen or bathroom cleaner. I love this deal! Ok then the next one is the cat food. Target has the small cans of Iams cat food on sale for $.59 a can. You can print an Iams coupon for $2 off three. I made $.23 off each set of three, which goes towards my other items.Neat right? I am giving them away to a friend as my cats don't eat them. I never just put things in my stock pile to just "look pretty". I also stocked up on coffee creamer for hubby. $3.98 for two there was a Target printout for $1 off two combine that with the mfc from last Sunday paper and it is only $1.75 for two creamers. Or $.87 (rounded) per creamer, if you like it that way.  Then there is the glade stuff. Yes, I am going to discuss it. Each one was  $2.99 total was $5.98 I had a coupon for $1.50 from Target. I also had a mfc of $1 off. Each set was $3.45 or  $1.74 each and yes there were Cw offers and Ibotta. *sobs quietly*
I got the Alexia potatoes with a Target coupon and two mfc so $3 off of them making it $5.58 for both and there was a 25% off CW. Bahhh. Would have been $4.19, oh barnacles!
Over all I spent $180 after coupons and Redcard it was only $70 (before tax) so  not bad. Not bad at all. You need to coupon. It only takes one transaction and you are hooked. Not only hooked but kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.

IKEA bookcase expedit

I made a decision to put together our ikea bookcase. One look at the Xbox games, DVDs, and books everywhere made up my mind for me. Here we go.

It started like any ikea project. A book filled of picture directions and a lot of wood piles.
The figures there say not to do alone. I was not alone. I had help, lots of help.
See? Helping. He was inspecting each box with intensity and scrutiny. I am happy for that. Not alone.
I started to put things in order which box of pieces go where and had to guess which box had the tools. Tip:they are in box 2.
Once we got things situated and organized. Well, as organized as one with an 11 month old can be it was time to build. So, he with his hammer and I with my instruction booklet settled down for a long journey of building a cabinet. This by the way was an act of sheer boredom as well as organizational need.
Mom it goes like this, see?
He was a big help and had to crawl on every piece of furniture. Silly.
There we got it done. And we did it without help, it actually wasn't heavy . We put together the big entertainment center the next night. We are an awesome team!

Bronchulitis and ear infections.

My son was normalish this morning. He woke up at 6:30 am ate his bottle and snuggled with mama and daddy. Then he really started to pull on his ear. Ate small bits of breakfast, then broke into a pain filled cry. I immediately called the doctor. We saw the doctor who told us he had bronchulitis and an ear infection. Great times. He was given antibiotics and a medication for his bronchulotis. And now it is his bed time and he is not wanting to sleep. Meanwhile mama is still ill. But, I will be alright. For now I have to get my baby to sleep and comfort him when he needs.

Me time? Take time for me?

While my hubby this morning was getting ready for work he mentioned something that has gotten my hamster wheel turning. "Take time for you." Followed by "you are the best mommy" take time for me? When is the last time I really took time for me? I mean really took me time. Sure 3 weeks ago I got my nails done, but  I was sitting there waiting for my phone to go off about the baby. Constant mom worry.  I enjoyed it but, was that the "me" time necessary for me to recharge? Probably not. I love being with my son, more than everything. But even god rested and me? Well let's just say there isn't any. Which is probably why and how I got sick. I blame the vacuum for this one. I cleaned it out Friday. And all this dust hit me. Then Sat, I used it to vacuum the floor and I didn't shut the container all the way. Anyways, he told me I need me time. I need to rest. Which is hard. I can not sit still, there is so much to do. Things to clean and a baby to pester. There is no me time. When I exercise I do it even when little man is up. I guess I need to figure something out. Perhaps a shopping trip alone at the mall is needed. Get my nails done and relax at the mall alone. Or call a friend and have her run with me. Sometimes, I hate being alone. Give daddy and boy a day to bond. What do you think?

Sick in bed with too much to do and take care of.

I hate being sick. I hate it when I am sick and still try to get things done around the house. My body is like "I am dying"and my mind is racing. I have so much housework to do. And a little man to take care of. It sucks being ill. When my son was napping I layer down for a few minutes but the. Had to get back up and get moving. Ugh. I am in so much sick achy pain, but the laundry won't do itself and neither will the bathrooms. I really hate this. Today's post will be brief. I just feel to icky to write much. Off to scrub a toilet.

Video game nostalgia : all this for a shotgun.

Hello everyone, I am still playing Tomb Raider, and I have died, gotten lost, figured out stuff, and remembered how to do certain things on the game.
Killed my first dinosaur. Then I got eaten by a Trex. I screamed bloody murder and almost peed my pants when it came out of no where and nom nomed on Laura.
It was a hard lesson, but I knew I could win the fight with a shotgun. So, off I went in search of it.
I had to go all the way back to the beginning and then do a lot of careful jumps. After an hour or longer,if you include frustration time outs, I got to the fabled shot gun.
I also found this. Apparently it does something necessary to complete the level. You have to fin 3 cog wheels. Which actually aren't hard to find. I went back to take care of mr dinosaur.
Booya! I gotcha! Mwahahahaha. I won! And killed him on the first try! With the four shots on the shotgun and a couple of shots from my pistols.
I placed the cogwheels in their spots. Then backtracked to the first lake and where the waterfall was I went through a cave. Level end. Whew.

Video game nostalgia ; tomb raider for iPad.

Still playing Tomb Raider, and I am having a great time. Other than the controls it is a great game to play on iPad.  I just wish I could remember where the shot gun is...more than likely I passed it up.
Um I don't know why it is tilted. But here we are. The next level.

I love this game!
Well, I died. A lot here and it was not fun. I mean as funny as her deaths were it was annoying.
How do I get past this?
You have to run and roll. That is how you get past here. You run and roll. Then at the end you pull a lever and fall.
Tricky tricky.
Once I made it past I cleared the level with no shotgun, but shells and oozie clips. Now, where are the guns?!

Video game nostalgia, Tomb Raider

Yes, she is back and old school. Last night I made the comment on Facebook during my boredom of "what would I do if tomb raider was on iPad ?" And so out of curiosity, I looked on App Store..there it was. The original game made for iPad! Shut up! I bought it, for $2.99 and dove into video game nostalgia.
Here she is Laura Croft herself. Notice the control pad, very basic and yes can be hard to maneuver. People on App Store complained about the d-pad controls. Um analog was not available then. Sooooo, get over it. This is old school.
Save often!
Look. At these graphics! In its prime it was amazing! Hey coming from an 8bit world this was so advanced.
Damn wolves. Yes, I yelled. I remember some of what to do here.

I killed bats. Grrr! I remember why I loved this game for so long. There was a female protagonist and yes, she had a "Disney " body, but she was a true ba. And among the first female ba main characters. It was refreshing to play her and revolutionary. Finally girls could relate somehow to a main character. Laura was our way in to the video game world. Spyro I would have to say was our second, although he was a boy, more girls played it than boys. From what I experienced. I mean pastel and colorful worlds, saving babies and freeing dragons? I didn't really know many guys that would break from Metal gear solid to play Spyro the dragon. But still Laura, set it in stone that girls can be gamers. Metroid started it, Laura finished it. (Not many people knew she was a girl in Metroid)

What is for dinner? Cereal.

Ever have one of those day, where the kids are miserable, nothing makes them happy, and things just are awful? I had that day. Our ac has been out for a couple of weeks and we have been fortunate that it has been cool here in Florida. But, for the past couple of days it has been mid eighties. And in a home where I can not open many windows, it is an issue. Can't open them due to damaged screens or missing screens. I have cats and fl has bugs. So we are here in this house. An ac repair man was supposed to call and come to fix it. My hubby tried to call him, there was no answer. He said he would be out today so what was the hold up. Finally my hubby gets a text, not a call, a TEXT. Who does that?  Who as a business would text to tell you they are canceling? They never answered the phone, and sent a text. Why? Cause they didn't want to hear my hubby get mad. He finally called hubby am she let him have it. My son and I sat in a hot house, my baby was miserable and uncomfortable. And I felt horrible for it, and I do not handle heat well. I am greatful it is cooling down finally, sorry to everyone stuck in snow. I feel for you and hope all is ok. But anyways, I made dinner to save money. Big mistake. I made horrible Alfredo and it was beyond nasty. I heated up my home for craptastic food. I was mad at me! My baby was hot, I was hot, we were drinking lots of ice water. He wouldn't nap all day cause of it and then that. Great. At least he ate. Hubby got home and I made him eat cereal. Dinner had been cancelled. Oscar the grouch can eat it now.

T-Rex shirt, wrong info?

Today my baby got his new shirt, shorts and sandals from children's place. However, something is bugging me. Look at the shirt. It says trex, Jurassic. I hope they are referencing the movie Jurassic Park. If not they need to google trex and get the wiki on when it lived. It was the Cretaceous period, not Jurassic. Allosaurus lived in Jurassic. Wow, I just made myself a dinosaur snob....great. #laughitoff
I know you are probably thinking, it is a kid's shirt. But here is the thing the size goes up to school age size. ...I will leave you with that. I hope it is the movie reference.

Today I was able to do a page or two in little man's scrapbook. I forget how theraputic scrapbooking is. I need to do this more often. I finally got his baby pics in and he is almost a year old. Looking through them was so heart warming and so fun. He was so little and I remember the most good things about his birth. The little person that went from being in to the little person in my arms looking at me. And now he is this,

A ten month old asleep on the floor. Hahah. He is so funny, he played with his bottle until he fell asleep. Didn't drink, just shook it around. My little man, I love ya, you silly boy.

Figured it out, how could I have not seen this sooner

For a while now I have been battling the "my baby won't eat!" I have to say I was worried, I would get ready to feed him and his mouth would lock up. He would turn away or fuss. I would then give up and let him out of his high hair. I would give him bottle, I figured he just wanted a baba and that perhaps his mouth hurt. That may not have been the case. After a few weeks of this along with him not sleeping all night because he would wake up wanting a bottle. He was hungry. But why wasn't he eating?

I know when babies reach a certain age they want to be rolling around the floor vs sitting in their chair eating. And I was thinking this was maybe a battle of wills. After some research it was not the case and again I was back at square one. I even tried giving him finger foods, soft enough for his gums to chew. He liked it but didn't eat enough. He is growing so what is the deal. Research was needed and a call to a pediatrician perhaps.

Thursday afternoon I got my iPad and had Siri search, while I searched too with my phone. Siri brought me to a doctor's blog and what I found there relieved my stress. It said "if the baby is not eating but is still growing properly, they must be getting nutrients and calories from somewhere. Formula,bm,juice, etc." wait what?

It dawned on me! My son and his bottle! His formula! The pediatrician said 3 babas a day. One at breakfast, one after lunch, and one before bed. I was making a huge mistake, I left his baba readily available. So he was getting the nutrients from that all day thus making him not want food.he was eating his bottle before lunch, and then of course he did not want his baby food. Then he would have bottle in the afternoon,so no dinner would be eaten. I couldn't very well force him to eat. It would cause eating issues later on. I had to change. So, yesterday I gave him breakfast before bottle. It worked. Then he ate lunch! Oh my god! He ate dinner too! But not a lot because he was drinking his bottle a bit in the afternoon. He still woke up. Today I gave him his morning bottle after breakfast then he got his bottle and took a nap! Lunch ,he ate lunch! A plate of carrots and beef, with pears and he ate it all. He has been drinking wawa(water). But now he can have his 3rd baba and still eat dinner! Final bottle is before bed! And he still gets snacks! I am totally kicking myself in the butt as I was the cause of his not eating full baby sized meals.
So lesson of today, if little one isn't eating think about what they are taking in throughout the day. Listen to what THEY tell you. Baby will tell you they aren't hungry and do not force it. They will let you know they are hungry. Communication is key, even with little ones.
